At meetings here last week, state Auditor Hector H. Balderas worked with local government officials on ways to guard against waste, fraud and abuse of public funds. “We talked to the city, the county and Western New Mexico University about their budgets and how they could be exposed to waste, fraud and abuse,” Balderas said. “We also want residents to know they can call and inquire or file complaints with my office.”
